Daily Debt Journal - Day 152
As I was hoping to get by two days in a row without spending any money, I realized that my car’s gas light was already on for two days in a row. Guess it’s time to bite the bullet and just fill the car. That’s one of the advantages to having the same car for over 10 years, I really know how far I can push the limit on it when it comes to procrastinating the fill-up.
Perhaps this reveals a little habit of mine though…living paycheck to paycheck really lines up with living gas tank to gas tank. The procrastination of every little thing that takes money away from me to the point where I’m almost late…or stranded.
Today’s Progress:
- Earned - $0
- Spent - $35.46 (gas)
- Debt Reduced - $0

Good think you filled up yesterday. The price of gas jumped overnight from 7 to 9 cents a gallon. Mr. A told me it was because of an explosion in a Texas refinery. He watches gas prices carefully since we fill up three times a week at minimum…

Yeah, I remember seeing your large gas budget. I figured it was from the rural life or something.
I try not to look at and complain about the cost of gas too much since it’s simply a necessary transportation cost for us to be able to function where we are. It’s a small town, so we don’t do THAT much driving. I just don’t like when it fluctuates a lot. I’d rather it just pick a high spot or low spot and just stay there.

My girlfriend lives about 10 miles away from me, and I drive it every day + work, so I feel ya on the gas prices. Especially cause my car knocks on anything aside from premium sadly (ofc premium here is 91, not 93 or 97 like I saw out east).
