I can tell you from my own experience that I used to not be good with cash *or* with credit cards, but using the envelope system I have become excellent with cash, easily staying within my set budget on a consistent basis, and no longer run up any debt. We just had to do something different because plastic simply wasn't working for us. I really do think it FEELS different when handing over cash as far as the emotional side. But I always say, find the system that works for you. So keep it up. I read somewhere that habits take 21 days to form. Maybe it's longer with money. Either way, progress is progress!
